Kodak X-Omatic L Cassette

This cassette is designed for portal localization when a few monitor units are used for the single or double exposure technique. The lead back screen allows the number of monitor units to be reduced by approximately a factor of two over that required when the lead back screen is not used.

Kodak X-Omatic V Cassette

This cassette is designed for portal verification when the cassette-screen film system remains beneath the patient for the complete treatment. The plastic back screen produces no additional intensification. Therefore, portal verification radiographs representing a greater range of exit doses can be obtained.

Kodak EC-L Cassettes & Film

Portal localization radiographs have traditionally been low in contrast. However, on the Kodak EC-L Film/Cassette System they are approximately 3 times higher in contrast, allowing bony structures to be more easily differentiated, improves treatment field verification and has more confident beam positioning.

The Kodak EC-L Oncology Cassette with Kodak
EC-L Film can be used for all portal localization imaging on linear accelerators. This cassette has a 1.0 mm copper front screen and 2 phosphor intensifying screens. This exposes the double emulsion film with light - not electrons.

The Kodak EC-L Fast Cassette with Kodak EC-L Film allows for reduction of 20 to 30% in exposure techniques which may be appropriate for portal localization imaging of wide anatomical fields, such as lateral pelvis.

A technique chart for portal localization images taken using 4 to 18 MV energies is available. Initial images may be taken using the same techniques currently employed, making adjustments as needed. It is critical that consistent source-to-film distances be used.

Simulator Cassettes

Simulator Cassettes are available with many different combinations of cassettes and screens. Select from Kodak, Sterling, Monotec or Heavy Duty Cassettes. Your screen selection is determined by the film you use as well as your film chemistry.

Standard Cassette Holder

The Standard Cassette Holder has a rugged, heavy duty construction with a counterbalanced cassette arm for easy vertical adjustment. The cassette holder tilts the cassette 180º and rotates the cassette 360º. The horizontal arm telescopes to 26" or 36". The cassette holder is also equipped with locking casters.
