Duncan Prone Head Rest

The Duncan Prone Headrest has a concave face surface with a cutout portion for the eyes, nose and mouth. It provides weight bearing surfaces to the forehead, maxillary area, chin and lateral borders of the face. The replaceable foam pad provides a soft, resilient interval between patient and cradle.

The height of the rocker legs allows adequate clearance for the nose. The clear plastic legs allow passage of light, reducing the “closed in” feeling. A disposable, absorbent pre-cut tissue is available to place over the face mask.

The Original Duncan Headrest is used when treatment is less intense and less frequent. The Improved Duncan Headrest doubles the thickness of the plastic cradle and adds a rubber channel to the rocker legs to help prevent slippage. With its added strength, it is ideally suited for more intensive uses.

Osborne Head Support System

The Osborne Head Support System is a modified Duncan Headrest which consists of a headrest mounted on a support stand. A chin piece provides stability and comfort. Four knobs allow adjustment to control precisely the angle of the face piece. The large flat base edged with a rubber channel and sturdy Plexiglas side supports obviate slippage. Velcro® straps attached to the stand assist in maintaining desired head position.

The Goniometric Osborne allows for precise measurement of extension or flexion of the neck. In addition, the chin may be placed at any of three heights. The precise angle may be recorded so the patient may be repositioned exactly for later treatment.
