The ASM-990 series Survey Meters are easy-to-use instruments that detect alpha, beta, gamma, neutron, or x-ray radiation within an operating range of 1µR/hr to
1 R/hr or 1 to 5,000,000 cpm, depending on the detector selection. Visual indication of measured values, and selectable parameters, are displayed on the analog/ digital display. These units are compatible with Geiger-Mueller (GM) detectors, neutron detectors, proportional counters, and scintillation detectors. A natural uranium check source is mounted on the case.

Radiation safety officers, nuclear medicine laboratories, x-ray and emergency room technicians, and environmental health physicists will appreciate this intelligent survey meter with its cell phone-like multi-function key for easy menu navigation.

Shipped calibrated and ready-to-use, these meters can be used as general survey meters, area monitors, wipe test counters, and contamination monitors (with proper detector combination.)

Each unit is supplied with a MHV connector. The Model ASM-992 includes a fully calibrated internal energy compensated 1 R/hr GM detector. The Model ASM-993 features a fully calibrated internal pancake detector and an internal energy compensated 1 R/hr GM detector.

The Wipe Test Fixture for the ASM-990 Advanced Survey Meter uses a high efficiency NaI(Tl) scintillation probe (Model 489-200) in conjunction with a lead shielded sample holder. It employs a removable wipe test holder or tray positioned below the shielded probe. Under these conditions, background radiation is minimized and wipe test counting is maximized.

During a radiation emergency the ASM990 can be used in conjuction with our Barcoded Triage Tags to quickly identify victims and record and track their information accurately.
