This versatile instrument can be used as a continuous area monitor, a portable survey meter, or a hand or foot contamination monitor. Four multiplier settings (x1, x10, x100, x1000), threshold adjustment from
10 to 100 mV, a range of 0-500K cpm and a toggle switch for FAST (2.2 sec.) or SLOW (22 sec.) response make this unit suitable for an extensive range of applications.

The Model 177 will operate on AC
current or by its built-in rechargeable battery. The built-in battery is continuously trickle charged when the unit is operating on line power.

The alarm on the Model 177 can be set at any point on the meter scale and a red light on the front panel indicates an alarm condition. A built-in audio speaker with volume control provides click-per-event or full-volume alarm. A push-button resets the alarm and zeros the meter.

The optional external pancake probe monitors alpha, beta, and gamma radiation. Or, you can add the optional Pancake GM Hand or Foot Monitor to check for personnel contamination.
